With the approval of the VPAP and the Dean, the chair is in charge of advertising for faculty positions in the following capacities:

• Chairs the Department Advisory Committee on Appointments (DACA)
• Makes the hiring recommendation to the Dean
• Provides necessary information for the University Appointments Review Committee (UARC)
